Raluca Tanase remembers

It was 2005. It’s quite hard to tell in a few words the whole story about life in and around Budimex (Marie Curie) Children’s Hospital.
The autumn came, a lot of leaves are around me, I am on the way to the Hospital and I’m wondering what kind of life-lesson I’ll have to-day.
At the gate people call ‘Hi’ to me! They know me. I was a patient here for a long time. Now, in my free time I am trying to tell little children how I was and that, sometimes good people came in and take care of them, giving each one drops or even tons of attention.

The playroom is a pleasure for these children because here is a nice atmosphere where they can forget about pain and loneliness!

To-day I am taking Florin and Raluca to the playroom. Raluca (a little orphan girl, 1 year-old, with a big tumor on her face) is dancing because she loves the music of the radio. The playroom is her entire world because all day long she would lie in her bed alone. She is happy – her face is so radiant!
Florin, a little boy of 2 years old, without parents is a hemophiliac. Now he – a little pet – is crying because I insist on making ride the little wooden horse. Ooooh… He adores it now, he laughs happily!

Here, for a few hours, these little ones are feeling safe and loved. Here they find themselves in a happy world, a world where there is nothing bad – where no bad things can touch you – a world of joy.

How much pain! We can do something to take this away; for a few moments I saw in these children’s eyes a spark of happiness – of life!
